Brown Forest Skink
Sphenomorphus indicus The Brown Forest Skink has a bronze coloured back that is speckled with dark and light spots on two sides It has a black stripe running down its side from nose to tail, through the eye and hind leg. It feeds on small insects and invertebrates and is non-venomous and harmless to humans. Commonly found in leaf litter it is a year-round resident of the USRC gardens. It is extremely shy, but may be seen basking beside footpaths and darting into the undergrowth. |
