The USRC Sports Subcommittee - Introduction
The purpose of this strategic planning process is to guide the USRC Sports Section Subcommittee planning efforts for the future. The goals of the process are to allow our Sports Section Subcommittee to clearly articulate its current position, its future direction, and to effectively develop a more responsive decision-making framework for the USRC Sports Section. The Strategic Planning Process for the Subcommittee will commence in August 2016. The process included invitation nominations for committee members from different sports sections to form the Sports Section Subcommittee and to gain useful information through regular meetings to enhance the better workings of the present system. The USRC Sports Director will be the official chairperson with the assistance of two GC members to be appointed by the GC Chairman.
The Committee will reformulate the mission and vision for the sports section by focusing on the unique contributions to maintain a harmonious sports section, which is transparent and fair to all members, and to foster a sense of solidarity among the members of the sports section. In addition, two main themes emerged from data collection: rebalancing the numbers of the members, sports members, junior sports members and guests players per team within the particular sports section and delivery of a higher quality of service to our members.
The USRC Sports Section should also partake in charitable events and, if possible, jointly organise such events with the Hong Kong Garrison. The purpose of organising such charitable events is to provide a stronger foothold and justification for USRC's operation of the Club on military land. These two themes now form the strategic direction for implementation of future sports section initiatives.
Mission
