Red-base Jezabel
Delias pasithoe The Red-base Jezabel butterfly has wings that are coloured black, white, yellow and red. It has a slow flight and thus can be seen easily. Its larvae feed on Sweet Viburnum (Viburnum odoratissimum). Very common in November and can be seen throughout the USRC grounds. The Jezabel is one of the few cold tolerant species and is often active throughout the dry season in Hong Kong. |
